Anyway, big aside aside. I wanted to talk about linen. A beautiful, almost old fashioned, sophisticated fabric. There are these bags/clutches/wallets from yorktown that came in the other day.

Not this pictured one, exactly, but the likeness. Great summer bags. I love how linen can hold its structure and shape with these bags. Its a wrinkle fabric by nature, so why fight it?

The new Fall season wear is starting to slowly filter in but who can think of sweaters in the sunshine? Today being the tragic Portland exception however, it being in the low 60s and overcast today…
What this means though, is that most of current Spring/Summer season is marked down. In some cases, WAY down. This amounts to about half the inventory on the floor and equals a perfect time to hunt for that special item.

Meanwhile, I’m throwing a surprise party for the boyf. I can write that on here because there is no chance in he*l he’s reading a fashion blog. What to wear what to wear…
I got this super cute romper from Phlox awhile back -

It’s very cute and if the weather co-operates I’m all over it. Otherwise, a new fall sweater…? Noooooo

This is a great new line!  Very simple yet sophisticated with a very clean aesthetic.  We just got it last week and it is going fast.  Prices between $50 and $100….no wonder it’s going so fast!

Its constructed from a thicker jean weight material, has a good stretch and sucks it all back in for a slimming effect. The high waist is great to tuck in a looser blouse or pair with a cropped cardi.
To me this just seems like you could come back to it again and again for a dress up or a dress down.
We have it in black and it says on the label ‘color designed to fade’ which I like the idea of…
